Rebecca Britten completed her psychology degree at Royal Holloway, University of London. Since joining Flower Associates, she has worked as an Assistant Educational Psychologist, as well as a skilled tutor with a number of children. She has worked within four diverse schooling systems in the London area: assessing children at a school for gifted children, as part of the school's selection process; working on a one-to-one basis with children who have superior IQ levels and present with Asperger's Syndrome; she also works very closely with two primary state schools (high and low performing), where she undertakes assessments of all Year 1 children.
She regularly provides individualised assessments for children aged between two and 16 years of age, administering the Wechsler assessments. Rebecca has also worked as a classroom assistant in a Special Needs infant school, where she worked with children aged between four and seven who have disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Autistic Spectrum Disorders and mutism.
The academic tutoring that she provides involves; Reading Recovery, Pause, Prompt, Praise, Math and English tutoring, development of short-term memory, mind mapping including revision skills and techniques. The emotional support includes: CBT, Social Stories, improving self-esteem and confidence, including basic body language skills for children interviewing for seconday school.
