Psychological therapy can help you explore any personal problems that you experience and examine alternative ways of dealing with them. We use a range of standard therapies to address problems, including Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy. We work within a brief, goal-orientated framework, where the main focus is on generating new ways of thinking and behaving.
The main therapeutic approach of our psychologists is cognitive behavioural; however, the following therapeutic styles are also practiced: rational emotive behaviour therapy, psychotherapy, family therapy, couples therapy, traumatic incident reduction, hypnotherapy and art therapy. Furthermore, neuropsychological rehabilitation, aviation psychology and pain psychology is also practised.
All our psychologists are trained professionals and accredited by the British Psychological Society. We have experience in dealing with a wide range of emotional and personal problems with individuals, couples and families.
Research has shown that this depends mostly on the problem and your motivation. The possible length of therapy will be discussed with you during the initial consultation. Sometimes one session will be enough, and at other times, several sessions may be needed. We are committed to provide you with an appointment for an initial consultation within 48 hours.
The therapy process involves talking, thinking and doing. The psychologist may prompt you by asking questions and making observations. This will help you to develop a better understanding of your situation. Both you and your psychologist will work towards defining goals and solving problems. You will be actively involved in all aspects of the process. The approaches used in therapy have been found to be effective for many different problems. Your psychologist will also discuss with you what you can expect from therapy.
In addition, and on request, we provide the following psychometric assessments and measurements: Ability (IQ), Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Workplace EQ 360, Neuropsychological, Developmental, Personality, Medico-Legal, Forensic, Coping styles, Attainment levels, Work related stress levels, as well as levels of depression and anxiety.
